The Burton High5 Tour.

If you thought that the UK scene was on a downer – think again. The Burton High5 Tour is on the way!

If you have been a regular at past Burton events – like last years rad scrap metal – then you’ll know all about how good these evenings of shred can be, and this year Burton are stepping up the game with the High5 Tour 2010.

Taking five brand new features on a tour of the UK, mixing it up with the park crafting skills of each centre’s crew and then providing a slick, jam-style contest for everyone to get down to.

Heaps of prizes are waiting for those that enter a High5 event and with the judging being split into three categories – kids boys/girls, youth boys/girls and senior mens/womens – there is opportunity for everyone to land some tricks and some swag.

Each comp will be run as a slopestyle jam, with practice qualifiers and a “two run best run counts final” for those that make the grade.

But the High5 Tour isn’t just about the riding. This year, Burton are enticing each slope’s Parkies to get creative with the 5 features, in an attempt to claim the Golden Shovel Award along with a limited edition package from Burton Snowboards for the winning 5 shapers and the title of “Best Park In Britain”!

This will bring a rider-judged element to the tour, and all competitors will have their say to decide which park pushed the tempo – giving marks for each park based on the following criteria:

• Fun
• Creativity
• Experience
• Value
• Stoke

Park crews are going to have to get thinking about this one so don’t be afraid to get involved and tell them how you like it.
