They are all Heart.

As there are only a few days left for you to try and get your hands on one of the five autographed copies of Heart Films Vol.3 DVD that we have to give away, courtesy of the TSA – www.snowboard-asylum.com, we thought we would let you in on what’s in store on this peach of a silver disc.

For starters it’s tagged as a documentary style snowboard film and is full of riders from Japan. It has subtitles so you can understand it and it has the big name riders in amongst the lines that come thick and fast as the seconds tick by for the 45 or so minutes this is on screen.

So what about the old adage of “you’ve seen one, you’ve seen them all” ? The Heart Crew have done well in making this an entertaining shred flick that concentrates more on one crucial part of snowboarding that is often missed in the more serious, balls out showcase films that we see more often.

Fun.

The usuals are there, of course. Big, deep backcountry pow, pillow lines, wind lips, slashes, monster booters, big spins, skidoos, road trips and all the usual tomfoolery that you would expect from a shred flick, but they have also added a real laid back element to the film that makes it appealing to watch and strangely familiar.

Not that your going get three seconds of air dropping some gnarly cliff on your next trip, nor are you going to rock out at a back country night shoot in Japan with some insane snow conditions – we’ve said too much – but there are even more awesome sections in this vid that will make you laugh in awe at what you watch. The atmosphere of the film is all about good time on the shred with your crew, which all of us can relate to in some way.

Heck it could almost be a session at the local dome! Well, not quite, but you get the drift.

The talents of Tadashi Fuse and friends is plain to see and the real life attitude of the riders in the movie shines through and make the footage approachable and real. Shouldn’t it always be like that?

A refreshing twist on the standard shred flick recipe, with a very neat selection of accompanying tunes too, so props out to the Heart films crew for producing a gem.
