Big FoTP props to Ben Kilner, who if you didn’t know already did himself and GB snowboarding proud at the weekend’s London Freeze competition.
Rocking up to the Battersea wasteland and the monstrous big air, Ben came in a very impressive 14th place overall, after just missing out on cut for the final 10 places.
Up against some sever talent from around the world, this is a massive result for Ben in the run up to the 2010 Olympics, where the halfpipe slayer aims to claim a bit of glory, and show that talent from a relatively snow free country can certainly mix it up with the best.
Other GB riders in the action included Nate Kern, who finished up in 20th and another respectable result, and not forgetting Jamie Nicholls, hitting up the big air to take 27th position.
If you consider the competition, with riders of the stature of ex TTR world champion Stefan Gimpl, uber Finns Janne Korpi and last seasons World Rookie Champion, Roope Tonteri, then our riders results are certainly in there with the best of them.
Great to see the UK riders mixing it up at a level we know they can, and getting the result to show it. Look out for our GB rider round up for October on FoTP, coming up real soon!
