Nicholls into Evolution Slopestyle Semis!

Published on: 7th January, 2010

Jamie Nicholls followed Dan Wakeham into a semi final place at the O’Neill Evolution Slopestyle today, squeezing just enough points out of his 2 qualifying runs to join up with the big guns for the semis and hopefully the finals!

An awesome result for Jamie, who has been riding very solidly of late – he qualified in 15th place out of 16 with a solid score from his second run, after his first run didn’t really go according to plan. Still the ripper from Halifax, threw it down for a sweet lap, beating riders such as Freddy Austbo, Petja Piiroinen and Rudy Kroell to a deserved slopestyle semi final spot.

The only other GB rider to get to the start gate was Tom Hunt but unfortunately he couldn’t put down the runs to get the points necessary, finishing 30th in his heat.

Still huge props go out these guys as the field that they were riding against, in this 5 Star TTR event was obscene. Finnish rippers Jaakko Ruha and  last year’s World Rookie champ, Roope Tonteri, were all in there, giving you an idea of the quality on show.

FoTP will be on the button with the results, so check back for what we hope will be some top finishes for Dan and Jamie.
