TTR Round Up.

Published on: 22nd January, 2010

What a year it has been so far for our shredders, and we’re only three weeks in!

The first few weeks of January saw some epic action around Europe, with three of the season’s biggest events going off, making use of fantastic conditions in Austria and Switzerland.

GB Girls have monster few weeks in Europe. Following from some fantastic riding before Christmas, Aimee Fuller has continued to throw down those hammers and grab big points at both the European Open and the Chicken Jam, moving her up to 9th overall in the TTR race so far this season on 488.7.

The highest placed GB lady on the tour, Aimee has her 6 results so can now go for better finishes and even more points to bolster that position. A top ten TTR finish is on the cards, and that podium is getting closer!

Claire Frost is top 30 for GB ladies, and flys the flag high for Scotland, currently in 28th on the tour, she’s riding well and could also secure more points at events later in the season.

Following her awesome finish at the BEO, Lesley McKenna is also top 50, sitting in 39th position on 236.27 points. A couple more banging halfpipes and Lesley could also be in for a fine TTR finish this year.

In 5th spot we’ve got Sam Rogers in 47th, so that’s 5 GB females all in the Top 50 so far this season, and with a further 5 riders in the top 100, including Katie Ormerod and Lynsey Ashsdown, the girls are rocking out for some good finishes.

For the men, the now infamous Jamie Nicholls is leading the way, in 25th position on 371 points following his epic final finish in the BEO slopestyle.

Jack Shackleton and Cody Hierons are just behind, but also in the top 100 male riders, Jack currently on 187.44 points and good for 90th position while Cody is a few points behind on 176.78 points and 100th spot.

With the Canadian Open around the corner, and with confidence high, we’re looking forward to more points for these three.

In 4th spot for GB men is Dan Wakeham, just outside top 100 in 102nd. Dan has moved up considerably after his O’Neill Evolution final appearance and fine pipe shredding in the BEO, as Andy Nudds is th 5th placed GB male, who’s slopestyle score from the BEO has also given him a boost is in 125th on 149.33.

Of course if riders such as Tom Hunt and Ben Kilner can get more results that we know they are capable of, then we could also see some great points finishes and more riders in the top 100 this season!

It’s an exciting time for GB snowboarding in the TTR! Check out the ranking lists down below, and look out for more news on our riders, only on FoTP!
