The FoTP Lowdown

We asked Jack some questions...here's how he answered.

Introduce yourself in the style of a mad scientist.
And as you can see my minions, If you add this seemingly harmless snitchzel sulphide, and fermenticise it with this banana skin, loop it back on itself and play it back through this cockrel’s boot, you end up with, Shacklebags, chemical symol JS13PUNKORDIE,

Why do you snowboard or ski?
Snowboarding is good, I snowboard because I love it. That’s it. I do what I love, and ive been fortunate enough for it to take me to some amazing places in the world and meet loads of new people and make lots of new friends.

How much wood could a wood chuck chuck, if a wood chuck could chuck wood?

The real question is how much punt would a punter chuck, if a punter could chuck punts.

What’s the worse trick – you know the one that makes you go …STOP IT !!
Spinning around on a box and claiming it as a ‘switch up'....STOP IT!

Tell us about your best experience, the most fun or exciting thing you’ve done, on the snow or off the snow?
I can't narrow it down to one single event or experience. Everyday something new happens, wether its when i'm riding , or skating or whatever, The whole experience of travelling all over the world and getting in the mix and riding all the time in new places is amazing.

What about your most scary experience? That one that made you go “WOAH!!
Man that was lucky!

When you fly off a kicker and you take off wrong or mess up mid flight and you start falling blind and you don’t know when the impact is going to hit or where. That is scary. I've done that a few times. I did it once last season and hit the back of my head so hard my nose bled.

What else do you do? – you can’t shred the rad all the time – do you have any other hobbies or interests?
Skating , I do that tonnes. If I wasn’t snowboarding all the time I'd be skating. I go to a lot of gigs. Punk gigs. I went to see NoFX a while ago. They were rad and Flogging molly in May. PUNK . . . . Fly The Flag !!!!!!

Every one what to learn new tricks…How do you go about learning a new trick? Any advice you can give other riders?
Break it down , and pump it up!

Do you have any annoying slope habits?
I'm not really sure, I like to shred by the seat of my pants.

Favourites time….what’s your favourite breakfast, your favourite pair of shoes, your favourite music, favourite hat, and favourite day of the week and favourite computer game?
An English one, Etnies- Arto 2’s, punk, loud n fast, I only have two, my flat cap and my Dalikfodda trilby, I don’t know what day it is and Call of Duty.

How many comps have you entered and what was your most memorable?
Which one would you like to forget?’

I've been in lots of comps. My best one to date was the expedition to Dalmus in Austria. It was a Burton AM tour. We drove for 6 hours from another comp, crashed on a hotel floor, Drove up the mountain the next day, Won the comp and then drove 6 hours back home. I don’t want to forget any comps. Its all good experience, win or lose and there's no point kicking yourself in hindsight.

Being on our team means your pretty good – but what would you like to achieve with your riding? Are you going to be a competition winner or the camera man’s favourite?
I'll take it as it comes and see where my snowboarding will lead me, I think you can be both, its just a case of juggling your time, but above all I'll make sure im doing it because I love it and nothing else.

Out of all the places you may have been in the world…where’s your favourite? Where would you like to go the most?
Each new place I go to has something that I like about it. I love Austria though, It makes France look like a building site.

And the last one – if you were given £1000…what would you do with it?

I'd probably just do what I do with all my money , use it to get somewhere to keep snowboarding, pay for a flight and a roof over my head. A liftpass.
Oh I'd maybe take 50 quid out of that to buy a new deck, my ones about to snap.
And you never want to pass by a smooth concrete bowled park with a snapped deck.
