Jordan's Blog - BRITISH SNOWTOUR

Ive been busy going around the country for the two legs of the British Snowtour Halifax and Chatham.

Halifax Big Air
The day was going pretty well, except i didn't have a coat on and it was throwing it down, until i ripped out my heel piece on my ski. BUT luckily some kind guy rented me his skis, so i was able to participate in the big air and rail jam.

Rail jam went ok but I wasn' really used to the skis but go some trick down such as 270 on switch up 270 out and 450 on 270 out, but i made it to the final but dint place in the top 3.

In the Big Air, i tried cork mute 7 on both of my qualifying runs (I no I should have put a safety run down) and fell on both (N) :(

Chatham slope style
Chathams set-up was amazing, a really fun day with all my friends.
Big air went amazingly well jam session, throw a safety 7 to lincoln loop and qualified to the final. in the final i pretty much throw the same and mute 5's and 3's and then tried a safety nine but fell. overall i finished 2nd in the under 16's category, which im stoked about!

In the Slopestyle championship first run qualifiers- blindside 270 out of top rail to lincon on big kicker to 540 mute to then the massive down flat down.
second run qualifiers-top rail to attempt 7 safety but my ski popped off, then to up rail, then to blindside 270 out on the down flat down.

I qualified qualified 4th overall. for the final first run final- same as first on qualifying run but fell on the down flat down. Second run final- knew i had to stay on my feet so i went with the run I knew I could do, so I did my first qualifying run again, stayed on my feet.

I was in the Youth Males category and I won that and took home £80 of vouchers and my shiny gold medal :):)

Big up to 9mm riders for killing it all day and my fellow fotp rider Charlie Smith for taking the overall win, with a sick run. Overall awesome day!!!!!! and the weather was nice :)

Thanks to spazz clothing, 9mm, and FoTP . Next stop Castleford!!!!!!

see ya there.

peace

The FoTP Lowdown

We asked Jordan some questions...here's how he answered.

Introduce yourself in the style of a TV game showhost.
Well, he’s a freeskier from Barnsley; he rides most weeks at CASvegas.
Come on tell us, if we haven’t already guessed. Tonight Dale, I am going to be Jordan Bailey. (applause)

Why do you snowboard or ski? Tell us the story.
I started skiing in Italy in Feb 2007 on a holiday where I went snowboard and on the last couple of days my friend’s taught me to ski and I fell in “love” and never looked back…
Skied at cas and ssv most weeks after that.

How much wood could a wood chuck chuck, if a wood chuck could chuck wood?

He would chuck, he would, as much as he could, if a woodchuck could chuck wood. hahaha.

What’s the worse trick – you know the one that makes you go …STOP IT !!
Screaming semen’s. They actually take quite a lot of skill to do but if you go
wrong your dead!

What else do you do? – you can’t shred the rad all the time – do you have any other hobbies or interests ?
BMX in summer, Photography and graphic designing, everything is rad when your with friends.

Every one what to learn new tricks…How do you go about learning a new trick?
Any advice you can give other riders?

I just visualise what I'm going to do and how im gonna get back on my feet…and ermm just sack up and give her ;)

Favourites time….what’s your favourite breakfast, your favourite pair of shoes, your favourite music, favourite hat, and favourite day of the week.
Good old English breakfast, Nike SB de la souls, I like anything from metal, hardcore
to reggae, hip hop, my home made ones or my dc new era, Saturday.

How many comps have you entered and what was your most memorable? Which one would you like to forget?
I've entered four so far. Best one was MK British Snow Tour 07. And worse one was CAS British Snow Tour 07. But they were all an experience so I don’t want to forget any.

Being on our team means your pretty good – but what would you like to achieve with your riding? Are you going to be a competition winner or the camera man’s favourite?
Well I’m pretty competitive but I ski for fun and I like to work with photographers,
so a bit of both.
